Our history
Founded in Leicester in 1914 Pex became a plc in 1931 under the management of its founder Mr H.T.H.Peck. As the company and brand grew it opened several manufacturing sites across Leicester.
In the late 1990s the company was sold to a European management company and latterly a Finnish textile company during which period its manufacturing operations moved offshore. Pex returned to UK ownership in 2004 when it was aquired by John Norton, the company's present Managing Director, in partnership with its Financial Director Jim Kirkman. The company is currently based in its purpose-designed 36,000 sq ft customer support, warehouse and distribution centre where it carries over 1 million stock items. It is the UK's leading branded children's hosiery supplier with a conservative estimate of 50 per cent share of the independent retail market.
